Key Responsibilities
Deliver expert care to pediatric patients receiving ECMO therapy.
Monitor and manage ECMO circuits, hemodynamics, and life-support systems.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and perfusionists, to ensure seamless patient care.
Conduct clinical assessments, troubleshoot ECMO equipment, and perform critical interventions.
Provide support and education to patients’ families regarding ECMO care.
Participate in daily rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing training.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to a high-performance critical care team.
Required Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in the State of Texas.
Experience: Prior experience in Pediatric ICU (PICU) or Critical Care Nursing is required. ECMO experience is preferred.
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
ECMO-specific training or willingness to train on ECMO systems
Strong clinical assessment skills, decision-making abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, particularly during overnight shifts.
