About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a busy, patient-focused orthopaedic practice. This role is ideal for an advanced practice provider who is passionate about musculoskeletal health, enjoys both clinical and surgical responsibilities, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
You will provide direct patient care, assist in surgical cases, and manage both pre- and post-operative treatment plans. This is a hands-on role requiring strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication, and the ability to balance clinic, procedural, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and orthopaedic examinations.
Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal conditions, including spine, sports injuries, and general orthopaedic issues.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on both non-surgical and surgical options.
Assist in surgeries and in-office procedures such as joint injections, casting, and splinting.
Manage pre- and post-operative care, including patient education and follow-up.
Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation using EMR/EHR systems.
Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment options, and recovery expectations.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Active Missouri NP or PA license in good standing.
Board certification: NP (FNP/AGACNP) or PA (NCCPA).
Current BLS and ACLS certification.
1–2 years of orthopaedic experience preferred (spine, sports medicine, or general ortho).
Skilled in musculoskeletal assessment, treatment protocols, and patient management.
Experience with procedures such as injections, casting, splinting, and surgical assistance (or willingness to train).
Strong EMR/EHR documentation skills.
Familiarity with workers’ compensation documentation preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage a patient panel, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
