Job Description:
We are looking for a Robotics Project Planner / Coordinator to support robotics development initiatives at Caterpillar (CAT). This role will focus on coordinating robotics software development and testing activities, tracking progress against milestones, and ensuring clear communication across engineering, testing, and project management teams.

This is not a pure software development role; however, the ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in robotics projects, particularly those involving ROS and C++, in order to effectively understand development challenges, dependencies, and timelines. The candidate will work closely with robotics engineers in an Agile and DevOps-based environment.

Project Scope & Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate end-to-end robotics development and testing activities
2. Work closely with robotics engineers to understand development progress, technical risks, and dependencies
3. Track project milestones, schedules, deliverables, and testing timelines
4. Collect, analyze, and report project metrics and status updates to stakeholders
5. Document project plans, risks, issues, and action items
6. Facilitate communication between project managers, development teams, and stakeholders
7. Support sprint planning, reviews, and ongoing coordination in an Agile environment
8. Assist with DevOps-style workflows, including frequent builds, testing, and integration cycles

Required Technical Background & Skills:
Robotics Experience:

1. Prior experience working on robotics development projects
2. Understanding of robotics systems, development lifecycles, and testing processes

ROS (Robot Operating System):

1. Experience working in ROS-based robotics projects
2. Understanding of ROS architecture (nodes, topics, services) and development workflows

C++ Project Experience:

1. Background in C++ development projects within robotics environments
2. Ability to understand code dependencies, build processes, and testing cycles

Project Coordination / Management:

1. Experience coordinating technical or engineering teams
2. Strong skills in planning, tracking, documentation, and stakeholder communication

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

1. Experience with robot navigation or path planning systems
2. Exposure to robot arm systems, manipulation, or industrial robotics
3. Familiarity with autonomy-related robotics projects
